Knockback???? it's REAL !!!
Rejoice!!!!! Getting hit knocks you back now, punishing you for not being careful!!
To be honest, I've never been a big fan of knockback in games, but despite my distaste for it it genuinely does work in Take N Break I think. The game is, on its own, very fast paced. You can dash through enemies and destroy them and as long as you know what you're doing, you'll have no issues speeding past every inconvenience.
In the past, the level was a lot harder, because I want this game to be hard, but how I handled that was unfair enemy placements, far too precise jumps and an enemy that the player had no way of knowing that jumping on it would hurt them.
I've since improved on the design, and because of this, the game became a lot easier. Adding knockback, while not my preferred punishment in games, is a good way of making sure the player is careful about their movement, instead of rushing through everything willy nilly.
Take N Break is almost complete, only a few things left on my checklist!
